The Human Resources Manager will provide operational and strategic support to the HR Delivery team and our clients. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help startups and SMBs (Small and Medium- Sized Businesses) build their HR foundation and framework. This position will primarily focus on supporting our SMB client base. Join our team and make an impact.
Location: Hybrid position, work from home based with willingness to commute in/around the Los Angeles, CA area to Client workspaces. All team members must be willing to travel domestically in the U.S. to Client locations upon request from time to time.
What You’ll Do
Client Support
- Partner with 2080HR’s management to lead multiple client engagements, adapting to various client environments, needs and industries while providing strategic and tactical HR support
- Deliver best-in-class client support on critical HR functions such as employee onboarding, offboarding, payroll changes, leave administration, unemployment claims, job information changes and employee relation matters
- Proactively assess, implement, and develop policies, processes, procedures, and programs that effectively communicate, focus on improving employee engagement, and support our client’s mission & culture helping employees achieve the company’s business goals
- As a fractional embedded HR team member, directly support client’s management and employees on their HR needs
- Address employee benefit questions in partnership with client’s broker of record, and collaborate with brokers during Benefits Renewals and Open Enrollment
- Collaborate with 2080HR’s management and client leadership teams to strategize and support execution of ongoing people strategy projects
- Analyze metrics and present insights to client leadership teams in with 2080HR’s management oversight
- Maintain and/or oversee team members to ensure accurate employee records in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Manage existing HR systems to ensure compliance - help to assess and introduce new innovative programs, and lead the implementation of them
- Develop client learning and development programs in partnership with client’s management and 2080HR’s management
- Develop strategic cultural initiatives in partnership with client’s management and execute on these initiatives
- Conduct salary benchmarking for client leadership teams and develop job leveling framework with 2080HR’s management oversight
- Based on the engagement, may process payroll with 2080HR’s management oversight
- Provide high level Recruiting Support as needed
- Visit clients onsite as needed in and around Los Angeles, CA
Internal Support
- Lead Client Onboarding, Offboarding and ongoing Account Management
- Ensures client support time is tracked appropriately for client invoicing
- Develop and maintain human resources and general industry knowledge
- Support team members and support a positive work environment
- Conduct research to aid policy development and client communication
- Provide mentorship to the team and support the 2080HR’s management team in continuing team education
- General Support
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Capital/Resources, I/O Psychology, or Communications preferred
- 7+ years prior experience in HR Generalist, HRBP, HR Specialist and/or HR Manager roles
- 1+ year prior experience in People Management or Management of an HR Function preferred
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations
- Start-up and/or SMB, and/or full-cycle HR experience preferred
- HRIS/Payroll experience with ADP, Paylocity, Paycom, Rippling, Gusto, TriNet, and/or Justworks preferred
- Multi-state environment experience and supporting those employees preferred
- Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously, delivering HR expertise with a customer-focused and mindful account management approach
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-paced, growing business
- Proven ability to research and analyze problems, present potential solutions to leadership, and execute them effectively with the highest degree of integrity
- Must be available to visit clients from time to time
