We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to join our team on a contract basis. This role will support HR operations during a time of transition and will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR functions, ensuring compliance, and supporting employee relations, benefits administration, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of HR operations, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, and benefits administration
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Handle employee inquiries, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
- Administer onboarding and offboarding processes, including I-9 verification and exit interviews
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including Florida-specific regulations)
- Support leave of absence administration (FMLA, ADA, etc.)
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning and organizational changes
- Assist in developing and implementing HR initiatives to improve employee engagement and company culture
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in an HR Manager or Generalist capacity
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices (FL and federal)
- Experience managing employee relations and handling sensitive situations with professionalism
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred but not required
