A4AL is seeking a volunteer Co-Human Resources Director to lead our campus organizing and chapter expansion efforts nationwide. This role will oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and management of student leaders to launch and grow official A4AL campus chapters at colleges and universities. The Co-HR Director will partner with organizational leadership to scale our campus presence under our newly formed 501c branch of the Alliance, support chapter operations, and ensure student leaders have the tools and guidance they need to succeed.
This position is ideal for individuals passionate about political organizing, leadership development, and strategic HR operations. It offers the opportunity to shape the structure of a national campus network from the ground up while collaborating with other senior leaders in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding process for student leaders and interns who will serve as founding chapter heads.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive campus chapter expansion plan, targeting 200 pilot chapters in the 2025–2026 academic year.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to finalize and distribute the A4AL Campus Chapter Toolkit and guide.
- Support chapter leaders in registering student organizations, recruiting members, and launching events and advocacy campaigns.
- Track chapter performance through engagement, membership, and advocacy metrics, and use data to inform growth strategies.
- Coordinate with communications and policy teams to align chapter activities with A4AL’s national initiatives and Hill Days.
- Mentor student leaders, providing regular check-ins, training sessions, and leadership development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Background or strong interest in political organizing, human resources, leadership development, or student advocacy.
- Experience in recruitment, volunteer coordination, or grassroots organizing preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a distributed team.
- Highly organized with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative leadership team.
- Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, with flexibility to increase based on availability and organizational needs.
This is a remote, volunteer position with in person opportunities in Washington, DC.
