About The Role
The Human Resources Director is a senior HR leader responsible for developing and executing People strategies that support the ForMotion business unit as Embla Medical's major operations sites across the Americas. This role partners closely with executive and operational leadership to enable business performance, workforce scalability, and cultural alignment in a complex, multi-site and multi-country environments.
The Director delivers high-impact HR solutions across clinical, operational and corporate populations, while ensuring compliance with U.S., Mexico, and applicable local labor laws. The Director leads a team of HR Business Partners that help create and implement solutions across this diverse portfolio.
The role operates as a trusted advisor to leaders and works in close partnership with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and local and global HR Business Partners to drive consistent, scalable, and employee-centered practices. execution of this role, the Director leads in alignment with the Americas People Team Principles, including operating as a unified business partner, making data‑informed and jointly owned decisions, enabling a seamless employee experience, designing solutions for the majority rather than exceptions, and fostering a culture of trust, respect, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and execute HR strategies aligned with ForMotion business priorities and Össur operational objectives, including growth, operational excellence, and workforce stability across the Americas and Mexico.
- Serve as the primary HR leader for the ForMotion business unit leader, providing hands-on, strategic HR partnership.
- Supports ForMotion’s Regions and Ossur’s operational locations through local HR Business Partner support .
- Partner with business leaders to support workforce planning, talent capability, succession planning, and organizational design.
- Lead and develop a team of HR Business Partners, fostering strong business acumen, operational understanding, and consistent HR execution.
- Provide leadership on employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, and complex or high-risk cases.
- Support change management initiatives including restructures, acquisitions, integrations, and process transformations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international labor laws, employment regulations, and internal policies across all supported locations.
- Collaborate closely with HR COEs to deliver integrated and scalable HR solutions.
- Drive engagement, retention, and culture initiatives tailored to operational and field-based workforces.
- Analyze workforce data and people metrics to inform decision-making, identify trends, and proactively mitigate risk.
- Act as a steward of Embla’s values and leadership behaviors.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site organizations and manufacturing facilities strongly preferred
- Healthcare, medical device or regulated industry experience a plus
- Experience supporting U.S. and Mexico workforces preferred
