We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Burnham, Illinois. This position requires a proactive individual capable of managing a range of HR tasks and supporting the department during a busy transitional period. The role involves critical administrative functions and direct engagement with employees to ensure smooth HR operations.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support across various HR functions, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance.
• Assist in onboarding new employees, including preparing documentation and facilitating orientation processes.
• Coordinate background checks and verify credentials for new hires.
• Maintain and update the employee handbook, ensuring policies are current and accessible.
• Utilize HRIS systems to manage employee information and generate reports as needed.
• Support employee relations initiatives by addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues.
• Operate softphones to handle HR-related communications efficiently.
• Organize and manage scanning of personnel files and other HR documents.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline HR processes and improve workflows.
The salary range for this position is $22 to $23/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. • Proven experience in human resources administration or a related role.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and the ability to navigate them effectively.
• Strong knowledge of onboarding procedures and employee relations.
• Experience conducting background checks and managing sensitive information.
• Proficiency in using softphones and other communication tools.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to update and manage HR documentation, including employee handbooks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with employees and team members.
