People Operations Consultant (Contract)

Location: NYC (3 days a week onsite)

Pay Rate: $75/hour

Responsibilities

Manage and execute the day-to-day administration of core HR programs, including benefits, compensation, and leave management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all internal and external regulations.
Serve as the system administrator and expert for the HRIS, ensuring data integrity, running reports, and supporting system upgrades or integrations.
Develop, document, and continuously improve HR processes (e.g., onboarding, offboarding, employee data changes) to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; manage all required reporting and documentation.
Provide first-line support for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, programs, and procedures.

Qualifications

Proven experience in an HR role with a strong focus on HR administration, compliance, and process management.
Demonstrated expertise in managing and utilizing an HRIS platform (e.g., implementation, data management, reporting).
Deep knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices, with a focus on compliance.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing transactional HR processes and data integrity.
Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth industry.
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), particularly for clear policy and process documentation.
Experience with Any HRIS system.
