Job Summary
The HR Manager is a mission-critical hybrid role, leading day-to-day people operations while also serving as the primary administrator and coordinator for IT operations and cybersecurity monitoring and SOC alerts. This role ensures the employee lifecycle runs smoothly from onboarding through offboarding and owns core HR administration, including payroll operations, benefits administration, HRIS management, reporting, policy/document governance, and vendor coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes; maintain recurring HR operational calendars and deadlines.
- Own payroll administration end-to-end including timekeeping workflows, audits, submissions, corrections, reconciliations, and year-end support.
- Administer employee benefits including eligibility, new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, vendor coordination/escalations, COBRA coordination, reconciliation support, and Open Enrollment execution.
- Serve as HRIS administrator and systems owner, managing configuration, workflows, permissions, templates, data integrity, and reporting (headcount, audits, finance-facing exports).
- Lead HRIS projects and implementations (including Rippling), including data migration coordination, testing/readiness, employee communications, go-live support, and post-launch stabilization.
- Administer Rippling IT workflows for joiners/movers/leavers, role-based application access, approvals/audit trails, and device lifecycle coordination (ordering, assignment, inventory, recovery).
- Serve as the point of contact for cybersecurity monitoring and SOC alerts, triaging notifications, coordinating response actions (access resets/suspensions, device actions), and maintaining incident documentation.
- Delivery of required safety training programs and maintain training platform upkeep, including course assignments, tracking completions, reporting, and coordination with internal owners and external vendors as needed.
- Manage HR and IT vendor administration including key contacts, escalation paths, licensing/seat tracking, renewal awareness, and billing verification coordination with Finance.
- Maintain HR policies, required acknowledgements, document governance/retention practices, and support audit readiness and compliance needs as required.
- Support recruiting operations as needed, including postings administration, scheduling logistics, candidate communications, background/reference checks, and offer letter workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR operations experience including payroll, benefits administration, HRIS ownership, and employee lifecycle operations.
- Hands-on payroll operations experience (audits, submissions, corrections, reconciliations).
- Benefits administration experience (enrollment/QLEs, vendor coordination, employee support).
- HRIS administration and reporting experience (workflows, permissions, data integrity, reporting).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and operational reporting.
- Strong judgment handling sensitive/confidential information; excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with a high attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing or administering Rippling (HR, Payroll, Benefits, IT modules) or similar HRIS + IT platforms.
- Multi-state payroll and HR compliance experience.
- Experience coordinating IT access and device workflows in partnership with IT vendors or internal IT teams.
- Experience triaging security alerts and coordinating incident response activities (SOC/monitoring liaison).
- HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
