We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Human Resources to lead and scale our HR function. This role is ideal for a hands-on executive who has successfully built or scaled HR operations in a hypergrowth environment, particularly within the construction technology or SaaS industries.
You will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team and will be responsible for all HR domains, with particular expertise in benefits, payroll, and compliance, while also overseeing talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, learning and development, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a scalable HR strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
- Advise executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure cross-functional alignment of people initiatives.
Benefits, Payroll, and Compliance
- Oversee all aspects of benefits administration including health plans, 401(k), wellness programs, and employee assistance programs.
- Lead payroll operations ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure full HR legal compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., FMLA, ACA, ERISA, OSHA).
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., brokers, payroll providers, compliance platforms).
Talent & Culture
- Drive initiatives around recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and retention.
- Build performance management systems to foster a high-performance culture.
- Implement learning and development programs aligned with employee and business growth.
Scaling and Change Management
- Build and scale HR infrastructure, systems, and policies for a growing, distributed workforce.
- Lead change management during rapid expansion phases, M&A integrations, or restructurings.
- Design and implement systems (HRIS, ATS, LMS) to support automation and analytics.
Experience Required:
- Required:10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years at an executive or VP level.
- Demonstrated success scaling HR operations in a hypergrowth environment (e.g., from 100 to 500+ employees).
- Deep expertise in benefits, payroll, and compliance, especially in multi-state or global operations.
- Industry experience in construction technology, AEC, or SaaS required.
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and inspire across all levels of an organization.
- Experience implementing and optimizing HR technology systems.
- Preferred: SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar HR certification.
- Experience with remote or hybrid workforce strategies.
- M&A or IPO readiness exposure is a plus.
Education & Professional Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
