Human Resources Director
Phoenix, AZ Vaco is hiring a Human Resources Director for one of our leading clients in Phoenix! As the Human Resource Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that align with the organization's overall business plan and strategic direction. This includes overseeing all facets of human resources management such as talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compliance, compensation and benefits, and organizational development. The HR Director serves as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and ensures a high-performance, employee-focused culture. This position is on-site, and the salary will be commensurate with experience, up $120,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership to drive organizational performance.
Lead workforce planning efforts and change management initiatives.
Talent Management & Acquisition:
Oversee full-cycle recruitment and retention strategies to attract top talent.
Implement onboarding programs that enhance employee experience and engagement.
Lead succession planning and internal talent development programs.
Employee Relations:
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through effective conflict resolution, engagement strategies, and employee support.
Ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and practices.
Serve as a resource for managers and employees on HR-related issues.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure legal compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Develop and maintain HR policies and employee handbooks.
Oversee investigations and resolve workplace issues in a timely and confidential manner.
Performance Management:
Lead the implementation of performance review and goal-setting systems.
Coach managers on performance improvement strategies.
Promote a culture of continuous feedback and accountability.
Compensation & Benefits:
Evaluate and manage compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and equity.
Oversee payroll processes and benefits administration in partnership with finance and third-party vendors.
Lead annual benefits enrollment and compensation review cycles.
Training & Development:
Identify training needs and design learning and development programs.
Support leadership development and internal mobility initiatives.
Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through training and company-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
7-10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.- SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification
- Experience with Employment Law specifically in Californian strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
Demonstrated ability to develop strategy and influence executive leadership.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Experience managing HRIS and related HR technologies.
