Position Overview
A rapidly growing, global organization within the life sciences sector is seeking a Director, U.S. Human Resources to serve as a strategic and hands-on HR Business Partner during a critical phase of expansion.
This individual will support a geographically dispersed, field-based commercial organization and partner closely with senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, and Medical Affairs. The role will focus on executing people strategies, driving organizational effectiveness, and delivering high-impact HR programs across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and total rewards.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR Business Partner to the U.S. commercial and field-based organization
- Partner with executive leadership to execute global people strategies within the U.S. market
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for commercial roles, supporting rapid growth and territory expansion
- Own and manage employee relations, including investigations, performance management, and corrective action
- Coach and advise field leaders on performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness
- Support and administer sales incentive compensation programs in partnership with Sales Operations and Finance
- Oversee U.S. benefits programs, including vendor management, renewals, and employee communications
- Ensure compliance with U.S. employment laws across multiple states, including wage & hour and leave policies
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and Operations on headcount planning and workforce strategy
- Manage HR systems, vendors, and infrastructure supporting the field organization (HRIS, payroll, recruiting tools)
- Utilize HR analytics and data insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including HRBP support for field-based commercial teams
- Strong experience within life sciences (biotech, pharma, or medical device) environments required
- Proven track record managing employee relations in distributed, field-based organizations
- Hands-on experience supporting sales organizations, including incentive compensation programs
- Deep knowledge of U.S. employment law across multiple states
- Ability to influence and partner effectively with senior commercial leaders
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, build environment
- Willingness to travel (~15%) as needed to support field teams
Compensation
Target base salary range of $180,000–$220,000, with flexibility based on experience and overall qualifications.
