We’re partnering with a top-tier investment management firm in the Chicago area to identify an experienced HR Manager. This is a high-impact role for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment and wants to play a central role in shaping people strategy, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and driving growth. The HR Manager will act as a key partner to leadership, helping to implement programs and processes that attract, develop, and retain top talent while supporting a strong and collaborative workplace culture. This role includes managing a small HR team and working with external partners as needed, with a hybrid schedule including onsite days in the Chicago suburbs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with leadership to design and optimize organizational structures that support strategic priorities and growth initiatives
- Lead HR operations, including performance management, career development frameworks, succession planning, and talent programs
- Provide guidance and actionable insights on employee relations, compliance, and HR policy implementation
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to advise leadership on workforce planning, engagement, and retention strategies
- Manage a small HR team and coordinate with external partners, consultants, or vendors for specialized HR needs
Qualifications:
- 6–10 years of progressive HR experience with exposure to both strategic and operational HR leadership
- Demonstrated success implementing scalable HR programs and systems, including performance management, talent development, and workforce planning
- Strong business acumen, communication, coaching, and influencing skills to effectively partner with senior leaders
- Proven ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics, solve people-related challenges, and provide actionable recommendations
- High integrity, strong emotional intelligence, and sound judgment in handling sensitive situations
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and data/reporting tools to support decision-making
