Recognized as a Great Place to Work, Bunzl Retail Services is seeking a seasoned Human Resources leader to serve as the
Division HR Director for Bunzl Retail Services, with oversight for a remote team of two (HR Manager and Recruiter). This hybrid role will be responsible for HR operations across 9 sites throughout the United States ensuring compliance, driving employee engagement, and supporting leadership development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating cross-cultural environments.
If the candidate does not reside in the Greater Chicago area, travel to Chicago to be in the office one week per month is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic HR partner to division leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, talent development, training and organizational effectiveness.
- Hands-on position leading HR initiatives across all distribution center locations as well as office locations, ensuring alignment with company policies and local labor laws.
- Coach and advise managers on performance management, employee engagement, and leadership development.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, partnering with corporate HR on escalated matters.
- Facilitate training programs and lead and support succession planning and talent calibration efforts for the division.
- Administer compensation and performance evaluation programs across the organiztion
- Lead change management and organizational development
- Manage HR team members and coordinate Workers’ Compensation efforts with site Leadership and other divisions.
- Maintain HRIS records and generate reports on key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, headcount, compensation).
- Support division recruiting, onboarding and development.
- Succession planning, conduct talent reviews and calibration
- Employee Engagement GPTW Strategy
- Travel to sites to support HR operations and build strong relationships with local teams and roll out annual processes, as required.
- Travel 6-8 times per year for BRS Leadership Meetings, HR Meetings, Sales Meetings and Open Enrollment meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including multi-site HR
- Strong knowledge of S. labor laws and HR practices.
- Proven ability to influence and coach leaders at all
- Experience in employee relations, talent development, and organizational Travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in HR or related
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR
- Experience in manufacturing or distribution environment
- Prior experience managing HR in large, multi-site organizations.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal) would be a plus.
