Position Summary
CoverSelf is a fast-scaling, cloud-native payment integrity platform built exclusively for U.S. healthcare payers. As we grow, we need a hands-on HR Manager who can build the talent function from the ground up -- sourcing and closing great candidates while simultaneously building the people operations infrastructure that a growing team needs.
This role is both strategic and deeply operational. You will own full-cycle recruiting across technical, clinical, and commercial functions, while also establishing onboarding, HR compliance, benefits administration, and people programs that set CoverSelf employees up to thrive. You will be one of the first dedicated US-Based HR professionals at CoverSelf, which means real influence over culture, process, and how we grow.
This is a builder role. The ideal candidate has done this before -- taken a scaling technology company from ad hoc hiring to a structured, high-performing talent function -- and wants to do it again with the energy, focus, and craft it deserves.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Full-Cycle Recruiting:
- Own end-to-end recruiting for all US roles: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and close.
- Partner with department leads (Engineering, Clinical, Product, Sales, Implementation) to build role-specific hiring plans and criteria.
- Develop and maintain a sourcing strategy that includes direct outreach, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, and agency partnerships when needed.
- Build and manage a strong candidate pipeline for both active and anticipated headcount, including India-based roles in coordination with local HR support.
- Ensure a consistent, professional, and welcoming candidate experience at every stage -- from first contact to Day 1.
- Track and report on recruiting metrics: time-to-fill, pipeline conversion, offer acceptance rate, and source quality.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Administer HR programs including benefits enrollment, leave management, policy updates, and employee records maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with federal and Georgia state employment law, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and EEO requirements.
- Maintain and improve the employee handbook, job description library, and HR documentation standards.
- Partner with legal counsel and payroll on any matters requiring cross-functional coordination.
Immigration & Visa Support
- Manage US visa and work authorization processes for employees and candidates.
- Liaise with immigration counsel to initiate, track, and close immigration cases accurately and on schedule.
- Advise hiring managers on immigration timelines, restrictions, and cost implications during the candidate selection process.
- Maintain compliance documentation and stay current on USCIS policy changes affecting the workforce.
People Programs & Culture
- Support performance management cycles, including goal-setting cadence, mid-year check-ins, and annual reviews.
- Help build compensation benchmarking and leveling frameworks in partnership with leadership.
- Identify and address employee engagement needs, especially as the team grows across multiple geographies and functions.
- Serve as a trusted, approachable resource for employees navigating HR questions, concerns, or workplace dynamics.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with a significant portion in full-cycle recruiting at a technology company or healthcare technology vendor.
- Demonstrated experience supporting rapid hiring ramps -- ideally 20+ hires per year across multiple departments and levels.
- Strong sourcing skills: LinkedIn Recruiter, passive candidate engagement, etc.
- Working knowledge of US employment law and HR compliance requirements at the federal and state level.
- Experience with HRIS and ATS platforms; ability to select and implement tools appropriate to company stage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication -- you can write a compelling job description, run a structured debrief, and deliver feedback with clarity and care.
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification a plus; or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting immigration and work authorization processes; ability to partner effectively with outside immigration counsel -- strongly preferred.
- Prior experience at a healthcare technology, SaaS, or payment integrity company.
- Familiarity with Atlanta's technology and healthcare talent market.
