NFM’s Human Resources Manager leads HR operations and strategy to support organizational goals. This role oversees onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The HR Manager partners with leadership to drive workforce planning, retention strategies, and culture initiatives, while ensuring consistent application of HR policies and programs. Additionally, the role leverages HR technology and data insights to improve processes and deliver an exceptional employee experience.
Job Duties: A Day in the Life
- Manage: Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, ADA, FMLA, and disciplinary actions. Partner with legal counsel on complex compliance matters
- Analyze: Research and respond to ER questions; maintain documentation of the issues
- Partner: Work with managers to develop retention strategies and analyze turnover trends. Conduct and analyze exit interviews
- Assist: Support performance management processes, including reviewing appraisals and training managers on effective feedback. Follow up on past due appraisals.
- Oversee: Monitor HR processes and service delivery to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality support for employees and managers. (HR contact center coverage, hiring standards, review of discharges, termination audit, ADA accommodations, etc.)
- Recognize: Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency within HR functions

Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, management or related field
- 4-6 years management experience
- 4-6 years of experience in providing counseling and advice to senior level management concerning employee relations issues. Including experience resolving employee relations issues impacted by federal and state labor law
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification preferred. Retail experience preferred
- Experience managing HR compliance across multiple states preferred
- Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs
- Acceptable driving record required
- Proficient in HR systems (e.g., Dayforce, ADALink, Experian)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excell, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, CoPilot and HR reporting tools
