The Role
NowThis is seeking an experienced HRBP to oversee and guide our people operations. This role will serve as the primary HR partner to leadership, supporting day-to-day HR functions while advising on a longer term people strategy for NowThis and ensure an exceptional employee experience. The HR Lead will manage compliance, benefits, payroll coordination, and employee relations, while also partnering to strengthen company culture, performance management, recruiting processes and leadership development.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary HR partner for NowThis leadership and staff, providing ongoing support and guidance
- Oversee HR operations, including compliance, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and employee documentation
- Update, maintain, and enforce HR policies and the employee handbook
- Support and refine performance review processes, including frameworks and manager training
- Partner with leadership on organizational design, headcount planning, and talent development
- Handle sensitive employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism including relations with the WGA
- Conduct regular employee engagement check-ins and surveys
- Partner with external PEOs and benefits providers to ensure smooth operations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations with PEO advisement
- Oversee recruiting process, including recruiting when necessary
- Provide periodic HR reporting for leadership and board updates
Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within media, creative, or growth-stage companies
- Strong understanding of U.S. employment law and compliance requirements
- Experience as an HR business partner, HR lead, or consultant working directly with leadership teams
- Experience working with WGA or other unions, including contract interpretation, labor relations, and union negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic advising with hands-on execution
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across teams
- Proven experience managing employee relations with discretion and fairness
- Comfortable working in a flexible, part-time, consultant capacity
