Our client is a global, privately held trading and supply chain company operating across commercial markets, with a lean, entrepreneurial culture and strong leadership presence in New York City. Due to continued growth, they are expanding their HR team and are seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to support key stakeholder groups in partnership with the Head of HR and Senior HR Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior HRBP will act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, supporting day-to-day HR partnership while helping drive talent initiatives across the business. Responsibilities include:
Strategic HR Partnership
- Serve as primary HR point of contact for assigned business groups, partnering closely with leadership
- Provide guidance on organizational design, team structure, and talent planning
- Support change management and initiatives that impact business performance and employee experience
Performance & Talent Management
- Lead execution of annual performance review processes: goal setting, calibration, coaching support, feedback cycles
- Support promotion cycles, job leveling discussions, and internal mobility decisions
- Partner with management to identify top talent, retention risk, and development plans
Employee Relations / HR Risk Management
- Provide support and coaching through sensitive employee issues including performance concerns, workplace conflict, investigations, and terminations
- Ensure consistent documentation and alignment to best practices
- Maintain compliance with local employment guidelines and internal policies
Hiring & Workforce Support
- Partner with leadership and recruiting resources to support hiring plans and growth initiatives
- Participate in senior-level interviews as needed and advise on selection, compensation alignment, and closing candidates
- Strengthen onboarding and ramp-up processes for new hires in partnership with HR leadership
Culture, Engagement & Leadership Coaching
- Partner with Head of HR and HR leadership team on building manager capability, leadership consistency, and team engagement
- Support initiatives tied to culture-building, employee engagement, and retention
- Provide coaching to managers on communication, team development, and HR best practices
HR Operations Partnership
- Collaborate with HR team on policies, HR workflows, and process improvements
- Support HR projects across systems, reporting, and operational enhancements as needed
- Ensure HR standards are executed consistently across stakeholder groups
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 5–10+ years of experience across HR, with strength in HR programs / people operations / talent management / recruiting / mobility
- Eager to step into a broader generalist HRBP role with direct leadership partnership
- Strong comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving, commercial environment
- Experience supporting high-accountability teams where performance and professionalism matter
- Excellent stakeholder management skills — able to balance diplomacy with directness
- Strong execution skills and attention to detail; proactive ownership mindset
