Endeavor has engaged with a boutique hospitality company operating a growing portfolio of lifestyle hotels and chef-driven restaurants seeking a Human Resources Director.
Position Overview
The Human Resources Director oversees all people-related functions across the company’s hotel and restaurant properties. This role is responsible for developing HR strategy, building strong organizational culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting property-level leaders in achieving operational excellence. The ideal candidate is hands-on, hospitality-savvy, and passionate about creating an exceptional employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategy aligned with company growth plans across hotels, restaurants, and the corporate team.
- Serve as a thought partner to executive leadership on organizational structure, staffing needs, and workforce planning.
- Champion company culture and ensure consistent values and service standards across all properties.
2. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for property-level and corporate roles, with an emphasis on reducing turnover and elevating service quality.
- Implement hiring best practices, recruiting tools, and talent pipelines for culinary, operations, and management roles.
- Lead onboarding programs that support retention, engagement, and brand alignment.
3. Employee Relations & Culture
- Serve as a trusted advisor to property GMs, chefs, and department leaders on employee relations issues.
- Promote a positive, inclusive workplace environment and uphold fair, consistent HR practices.
- Design and drive employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and open-door communication processes.
4. Learning, Development & Performance Management
- Build and implement training programs for leadership development, service standards, compliance, and company culture.
- Lead performance review processes, coaching leaders on goal-setting and talent development.
- Identify high-potential employees and support internal mobility and succession planning.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (wage & hour, scheduling, harassment, safety, tip compliance, etc.).
- Maintain accurate HR documentation, employee files, and reporting.
- Oversee workers’ compensation cases, safety programs, and risk-mitigation initiatives.
6. Compensation, Benefits & HR Systems
- Collaborate with leadership to refine compensation structures and benefits offerings.
- Oversee payroll accuracy in partnership with Finance.
- Manage HR systems (HRIS, ATS, LMS) and ensure data integrity.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or multi-unit role.
- MUST have a background in hospitality (hotels or restaurants required; boutique or lifestyle experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of employment law, best practices, and hospitality HR challenges (seasonal staffing, high-volume turnover, tip structures, etc.).
- Experience building HR processes and systems in growing organizations.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and professionalism.
- HR certifications (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) a plus.
