Title: Director of Human Resources
Position SummaryThe Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic and trusted advisor to senior leadership, department heads, and employees—driving a positive workplace culture, fostering engagement, and ensuring full compliance with employment laws and best practices.
This individual is a transformational HR leader responsible for designing and executing scalable HR processes that enhance the employee experience, optimize operational efficiency, and support organizational growth. As a key business partner, the Director of HR will collaborate cross-functionally to develop data-driven, high-impact people strategies that align with company objectives.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead the Field HR team (People Relations and People Support), ensuring scalable processes that enhance employee engagement and service delivery.
Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding, engagement, performance management, and offboarding—ensuring compliance, data integrity, and a consistent employee experience.
Build and lead a best-in-class HR field team leveraging technology, automation, and a high-touch service model accessible to employees at all levels.
Develop and maintain a scalable job architecture that promotes compliance, consistency, and transparent career progression.
Partner with business leadership on organizational design and change management initiatives to support growth and transformation.
Drive a continuous improvement culture by aligning HR processes with business priorities and operational objectives.
Oversee and optimize the HRIS system (Nitro); identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, and improved employee experience.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate HR program effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with internal Employment Law and Compliance partners to ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations.
Lead compliance reporting, policy updates, and risk mitigation strategies.
Serve as a subject matter expert on HR compliance, employee relations, and organizational risk management.
Represent HR leadership with professionalism, maintaining confidentiality, ethics, and alignment with organizational values.
Leadership ResponsibilitiesPromote a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture that aligns with organizational values.
Identify, develop, and retain top talent within the HR and field operations teams.
Set clear performance standards, delegate effectively, and encourage continuous feedback and employee engagement.
Provide coaching and leadership development opportunities to employees to advance both individual and organizational goals.
Maintain open and transparent communication with team members and stakeholders through regular meetings and updates.
Demonstrate adaptability in fast-paced, changing environments while maintaining a steady leadership presence.
Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and confidentiality in all HR matters.
Required Skills & Expertise7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including managing HR operations and field HR teams.
Deep understanding of HR best practices, policies, and employment law (local, state, and federal).
Proven success leading HRIS platform optimization and scalability initiatives.
Strong data analytics and reporting capability; skilled in using metrics to drive strategy and measure program impact.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing, employee-focused HR teams.
Project management expertise with a focus on process improvement and change management.
Experience designing and monitoring KPIs and HR dashboards to track performance and compliance.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Strategic mindset with strong business acumen, able to align HR initiatives with overall company goals.
Proven track record of fostering a high-touch, service-oriented HR culture while maintaining scalability and efficiency.
Education & CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required).
PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
