Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong background in the construction and electrical industry who will lead both strategic and operational HR functions across the field and office teams. The ideal candidate is SHRM-certified, deeply knowledgeable in employment law, and passionate about building strong teams, fostering a positive workplace culture, and aligning HR initiatives with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve the company’s onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strong employee experience.
- Partner with executives and department leaders to design and implement HR initiatives that support company objectives.
- Supervise and guide HR support staff (if applicable) in daily operations and special projects.
- Lead the performance review process, ensuring timely completion, consistency, and actionable feedback.
- Advise managers on employee development, performance coaching, and retention strategies.
- Oversee employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and culture-building efforts.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for employee relations issues, conducting investigations when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date HR policies and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Keep accurate and confidential HR records, reports, and analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen efficiency and employee satisfaction.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, job design, and organizational structure adjustments.
- Ensure benefit programs and compensation structures remain competitive within the market.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or senior-level HR role.
- Experience in construction, electrical contracting, or related trades preferred.
- Proven ability to manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR operations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
