Our client is seeking a seasoned HR Director with a strong background in manufacturing, oil & gas, or a related industry. This individual must bring 10+ years of broad-based HR Generalist experience with a proven ability to support both field operations and corporate environments. The HR Director will be responsible for providing strategic and hands-on leadership across all areas of HR, including talent management, employee relations, compliance, and benefits oversight. This is a 100% onsite role based in North Houston with regional travel across several states.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives across field and corporate operations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management on workforce planning, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
Employee Relations & Talent Management:
- Lead employee relations initiatives by addressing workplace concerns, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Drive talent acquisition, performance management, and succession planning to ensure the right talent is in place to support business growth.
- Oversee employee engagement programs that strengthen retention and company culture.
Compliance & HR Policies:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and evolving employment regulations.
- Oversee HR compliance audits, including 401(k) auditing and other required filings.
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies, handbooks, and procedures that support best practices and compliance.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Oversee employee benefit programs in partnership with brokers/vendors.
- Partner with Finance and external auditors on compliance and reporting requirements.
Field & Regional Support:
- Provide HR support for regional field operations, ensuring consistency in employee relations, compliance, and training.
- Travel to various sites across multiple states to engage with employees and leadership teams, fostering strong connections between corporate HR and field operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Industry experience in manufacturing, oil & gas, or related industrial sectors is required.
- Proven success supporting both corporate and field operations.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws with demonstrated ability to stay ahead of regulatory changes.
- Experience with talent management, employee relations, HR compliance, and benefits/401(k) auditing.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel regionally across several states as required.
Work Environment:
- This is a 100% onsite role based in North Houston.
