Job Title: Human Resources Director (HR)
Location: Remote Flexibility OR In-office in Brooklyn, NY. Requires travel to the New York HQ once per month, as well as occasional travel to offices in other states.
About the Role:
Our client is a sizable, established and successful ABA Therapy agency operating in many states across the country. They are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead and advance the HR function for a growing multi-state healthcare organization. This role requires a strategic HR leader who can balance operational excellence with a strong commitment to employee engagement, compliance, and organizational growth. The HR Director will work closely with leadership across locations to develop processes, manage talent, and support operational initiatives including mergers and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the HR department by fostering a positive, professional, and supportive environment for all employees. Manage the nine person team.
- Partner with operational teams across multiple states to deliver consistent HR support, guidance, and compliance oversight.
- Develop, implement, and manage HR policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring adherence to labor laws and regulations.
- Oversee HRIS systems, maintain data integrity, audit records, and provide accurate reporting on key HR metrics.
- Manage full-cycle HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, employee data management, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as HIPAA and client confidentiality requirements.
- Manage credentialing processes for healthcare professionals across multiple states, including BCBAs and RBTs.
- Support benefits administration, payroll inquiries, and other HR-related projects.
- Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, and organizational development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or minimum 4-7+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in multi-state healthcare or human services.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
- Strong knowledge of labor law, compliance, HR policies, and procedures.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Experience managing HRIS systems and producing accurate reports.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
