A growing, historic consumer goods brand is seeking a dynamic HR Director to join its team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role combines strategic insight with hands-on execution across all areas of HR, including recruiting, people operations, payroll, and performance management. The HR Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to align HR initiatives with the company’s growth plans and long-term vision. This is a fully on-site role in Hudson Count, New Jersey.
Requirements:
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies across a diverse range of roles, including corporate, administrative, warehouse/manufacturing, drivers, and sales.
- Learn and champion the company story to compellingly attract candidates at all levels.
- Build strong pipelines and implement consistent, effective selection processes.
- Oversee payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations activities.
- Lead the development of job descriptions, training programs, and performance management processes.
- Support HR systems, documentation, and workflow enhancements as the business evolves.
- Serve as a chief culture ambassador, creating engagement and energy around milestones, events, and employee programs.
- Act as a trusted partner to the Senior Leadership Team, taking on strategic projects as needed.
- Identify and address employee issues proactively, mitigating risk and ensuring a positive workplace.
- Support the scaling of the organization through both organic growth and potential acquisition activity.
- Help shape long-term HR strategy in partnership with leadership as the company expands.
- Build frameworks, structure, and processes that support a growing workforce and maturing HR function.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a growing or evolving organization.
- Strong track record of driving impact and implementing change.
- Industry background in consumer products, manufacturing, warehouse, or related sectors strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
- A growth-oriented mindset and desire to help build a long-term HR foundation.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a family-run, fast-moving environment.
Compensation: $120,000-150,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
