Our client, a retail manufacturing company in the Chicago suburbs, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee all aspects of Human Resources for their U.S. office. This role will serve as the sole HR leader on-site, managing the full employee lifecycle while partnering with leadership to support a team of approximately 50 employees.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys owning the entire HR function and working closely with leadership in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle HR operations (A–Z HR) for the organization
- Oversee payroll administration through ADP
- Serve as the internal benefits liaison with ADP TotalSource
- While benefits administration is outsourced, this role will answer employee questions and coordinate with ADP
- Lead talent acquisition efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring
- Act as the primary HR advisor to leadership
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations
- Support employee relations, onboarding, and performance management
- Provide office management support for the local office when needed
- Maintain HR systems, records, and reporting
Qualifications
- 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a standalone or generalist/manager role
- ADP payroll experience required
- Experience working with outsourced benefits providers (ADP TotalSource preferred)
- Strong background in talent acquisition and recruiting
- Ability to operate independently and manage the full HR function
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (3 days onsite)
