Your role:
Global Relay is seeking a highly hands-on Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our US-based teams within a fast-paced, regulated SaaS environment. This role is responsible for owning and executing the full employee lifecycle, serving as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees.
This is a true operational HRBP role requiring both strategic partnership and direct execution. The HRBP will independently manage employee relations, performance management, compensation actions, employee lifecycle processes, and HR systems, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and high-quality employee experiences. The ideal candidate thrives in a lean environment, takes ownership, and is comfortable executing both tactical and strategic HR responsibilities.
Your responsibilities:
- Own and execute the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding, including preparing and managing employee documentation, executing job changes (promotions, transfers, compensation adjustments), maintaining accurate HRIS records, ensuring data integrity, delivering seamless and compliant employee experiences.
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned client groups, providing direct, hands-on support to managers and employees.
- Independently manage employee relations matters, including investigations, performance concerns, coaching, and resolution.
- Partner closely with managers to address performance issues, support performance improvement plans, and execute performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and calibration.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices while promoting a culture of accountability and high performance
- Execute compensation processes including merit increases, promotions, and job changes, ensuring alignment with internal equity and company guidelines.
- Partner with managers to implement compensation decisions, support organizational changes, and advise on role clarity and team effectiveness.
- Participate in recruiting efforts, including interviewing candidates and supporting hiring decisions, and contribute to talent planning and employee development initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders by providing practical, hands-on HR guidance aligned with business needs.
- Support organizational effectiveness, workforce changes, and team development while ensuring smooth execution of HR programs and initiatives.
- Identify trends, analyze HR data, and recommend improvements to strengthen employee experience, operational efficiency, and scalability.
About you:
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years as a hands-on HR Business Partner with full employee lifecycle ownership
- Prior experience supporting teams within a technology, SaaS, or high-growth environment
- Demonstrated experience independently managing employee relations, performance management, and compensation processes
- Strong experience executing HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle changes
- Experience with HRIS platforms (Workday, UKG, BambooHR, ADP, or similar); ATS experience an asset, preferably Greenhouse
- Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong business acumen with the ability to build trust and influence managers and employees
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive matters
Compensation:Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with applicable pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values. We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees' work-life rhythms. We provide a comprehensive health benefits program, including extended health coverage and short-term / long-term disability insurance. Employees receive annual allotted vacation days, which increase based on tenure. Base salary range: $130,000 USD - $180,000 USD
