About the Role
The Director of HR will oversee the entire people function for a small-to-mid-sized, personality-driven organization. This is a true end-to-end leadership opportunity, not simply administering HR, but shaping people strategy and driving organizational performance.
While prior entertainment experience is not required, you must be comfortable operating in a creative, fast-moving, high-visibility environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with executive leadership to align HR strategy with business objectives
- Serve as the senior advisor to department heads
- Lead benchmarking, headcount planning, and job leveling initiatives
- Enhance scalability, structure, and organizational effectiveness
- Oversee compensation programs, incentive structures, and benefits offerings
- Lead annual benefits renewals, negotiating directly with brokers and insurers
- Ensure competitive, equitable pay practices aligned with market benchmarks
- Manage HR systems (Workday), payroll (ADP), and core HR processes
- Oversee open enrollment, policy updates, and benefits communications
- Foster a high-engagement, inclusive workplace culture
- Act as the escalation point for employee relations matters
- Conduct investigations and manage sensitive issues with sound judgment and discretion
- Oversee recruitment strategies across corporate functions
- Strengthen performance management, career development, and succession planning
- Support leadership development and executive coaching
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Maintain HR policies, handbooks, and workplace standards
- Oversee wage & hour compliance, leave administration, and risk mitigation
- Lead and develop a small HR team
- Establish clear priorities, processes, and expectations
- Build structure while maintaining agility and flexibility
Preferred Profile
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience
- 5+ years managing a team
- Proven experience leading the full HR function (not solely a specialist)
- Direct experience managing benefits renewals and broker relationships
- Strong employee relations expertise
- Experience partnering closely with executive leadership in high-profile environments
