About the Role
An established and high-growth home services company is seeking a highly capable and people-focused HR Manager, People Operations, to support our distributed home-services workforce and drive consistent, scalable HR excellence across 10 satellite branches. This role acts as a strategic partner to branch managers, a champion of employee experience, and the owner of our HR systems, benefits, and people programs. The role will report into the CFO with dotted line reporting to the CEO.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on HR operations with strategic people initiatives and thrives in an environment that requires proactive problem solving, strong relationship-building, and a metric-driven approach to improving our workforce.
Key Responsibilities
1. Multi-Site HR Partnership
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for 10 satellite branches, providing guidance on employee relations, performance, development, and policy interpretation.
- Build strong relationships with branch managers and support them in all people-related matters.
- Conduct periodic branch visits to assess culture, workforce health, and manager needs.
2. Employee Benefits Ownership
- Administer and manage employee health, dental, vision, disability, and retirement benefit plans.
- Lead open enrollment, vendor communication, and employee education around benefits.
- Resolve employee benefits questions, claims, and eligibility issues quickly and accurately.
- Evaluate options and recommend enhancements to support employee well-being.
3. HR Systems, Tools & Process Optimization
- Be the HR IT leader responsible for evaluating, selecting, implementing, and HR software and tools (HRIS, ATS, LMS, engagement tools, scheduling, productivity tools) to optimize the day-to-day functions of HR.
- Partner with managers in satellite offices to ensure adoption of HR technology that makes their teams more productive and consistent.
- Standardize HR workflows across all branches (onboarding, performance cycles, documentation, candidate pipelines).
- Continuously improve automation, data accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
4. Talent Development, Career Pathing & Succession
- Help identify high-potential employees across branches and build structured development plans.
- Work with operational leaders to define career paths for home-service roles, lead/manager roles, and future leaders.
- Support the rollout of training programs, mentorship, skill-building, and leadership
5. Performance Management & Year-End Review Process
- Own the standardized annual performance review cycle, including timelines, templates, manager coaching, and technology enablement.
- Cascade the review process to managers and ensure consistency all branches
- Track completion, analyze performance trends, and help leaders use the data for development and workforce planning.
6. Workforce Planning & Talent Pipeline Development
- Support hiring needs by helping develop a proactive recruiting pipeline.
- Partner with operations to track turnover patterns and build retention strategies.
- Identify talent gaps in branches and help build bench strength.
7. Metrics, Reporting & Workforce Insights
- Lead a metrics-driven people operations strategy, including dashboards and reporting on:
- Turnover & retention
- Time-to-fill & pipeline health
- Branch-level performance and engagement indicators
- Training completion and development progress
- HRIS data integrity
- Use data to recommend improvements in scheduling, staffing, training, onboarding, and performance.
8. Employee Relations & Compliance
- Address employee concerns, conduct fair and thorough investigations, and provide guidance to managers.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations across all offices.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready employee documentation in the HRIS.
- Oversee payroll administration
Qualifications
Required
- 4-7 years of HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a generalist, business partner, or people-ops role
- Experience working with multi-site or distributed teams and/or a fast-scaling company with satellite offices
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits administration
- Proven ability to implement HR technology tools and drive adoption among managers
- Metrics-driven with the ability to build dashboards and derive insights from data
- Experience supporting frontline, hourly, or field-service workforces
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and coaching skills
- Ability to travel to satellite branches as needed
- University or College Degree
- Ability to work out of the Boston Area/Foxborough Office 3-4 days per week
Preferred
- Experience in home services, construction, facilities management, or business services
- Prior ownership of performance review cycles
- Hands-on experience with modern HRIS/ATS platforms
- Exposure to career pathing or internal mobility programs
