A mid-sized global private equity firm in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources. This is a direct-hire, individual-contributor role with firmwide influence, ideal for a hands-on HR professional eager to build structure and strategy within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
On-site schedule: 5 days per week
Base Salary: $150K–$170K + bonus
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for approximately 100 employees across multiple global locations
- Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
- Oversee benefits administration, compensation benchmarking, and open enrollment in partnership with the firm’s external PEO provider
- Handle immigration and mobility matters, including visas and short-term relocations, in collaboration with external counsel
- Support leadership with employee relations, policy interpretation, and compliance matters
- Develop and maintain HR reporting and analytics to track headcount, attrition, and cost trends
- Partner closely with senior management and finance on compensation planning, workforce analysis, and organizational initiatives
- Enhance firm culture through engagement programs, professional development, and cross-functional collaboration
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of progressive HR generalist or HRBP experience, preferably within a financial services or professional services firm under 250 employees
- Global HR experience and familiarity with both U.S. and international employment practices
- Strong analytical ability and advanced proficiency in Excel; comfortable presenting data-driven recommendations to leadership
- Experience working through a PEO for payroll and benefits administration
- Proven success building HR processes and programs from the ground up
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and communication skills across all organizational levels
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or HR certification preferred
