At Catapult, we are recruiting on behalf of one of our members, The Blanchard Institute, in their search for an HR Manager. This is an onsite role in the Charlotte, NC area, supporting a multi-site employee population.
Position Overview:
The HR Manager will own and oversee all HR functions, managing daily operations while ensuring legal compliance and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role focuses on developing and optimizing processes for performance management, leadership effectiveness, and career development. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational HR expertise and a strategic mindset to enhance HR processes and align them with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Administration
- Oversee all day-to-day HR functions, including recruitment, payroll, onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and HR record management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (FMLA, FLSA, HIPAA, etc.), keeping the organization updated on any changes.
- Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR documentation.
- Support payroll coordination and manage time-off tracking (in coordination with outsourced services, if applicable).
Employee Relations & Legal Compliance
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing coaching and conflict resolution support.
- Investigate and resolve workplace issues or grievances, ensuring fair treatment for all employees.
- Ensure that the organization maintains compliance with employment laws and regulations, managing audits and reporting.
Performance Management
- Develop (or enhance) and manage a performance management system, including the creation (or updating) of performance review templates, processes, and feedback systems.
- Assist leadership with designing clear goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and regular check-ins for employees.
Leadership Development & Career Pathing
- Design and implement leadership development programs to enhance management effectiveness and drive high performance.
- Provide coaching to leaders on improving their leadership skills and decision-making.
- Support succession planning by identifying high-potential employees and fostering career growth.
- Develop and manage career development initiatives, including employee development plans, mentorship programs, and training opportunities.
- Identify skill gaps and create development plans.
Employee Engagement
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, including conducting employee surveys and analyzing results.
- Use survey data to make actionable recommendations for improving employee satisfaction, retention, and productivity.
Training
- Design and implement training programs that align with business goals.
- Coordinate internal and external training sessions, workshops, and e-learning courses.
- Conduct mandatory compliance training (e.g., workplace safety, DEI, harassment prevention).
- Ensure training programs comply with labor laws and industry regulations.
HR Strategy & Data Management
- Develop and support the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the overall business goals of the organization.
- Analyze HR metrics and generate reports on turnover, employee engagement, performance trends, and compliance.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all HR systems.
- Present findings to leadership and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Process Improvement
- Improve HR processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience, particularly in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a strategic HR role, with demonstrated ability to partner with business leaders.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies, employee relations, and performance management systems.
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting, talent management, employee engagement, onboarding and offboarding.
- Experience balancing tactical, day-to-day responsibilities with strategic, long-term planning to drive organizational success.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Skilled in handling sensitive and complex employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Capability to drive change and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with HR analytics and performance metrics.
- Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS software.
