Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR Director to lead our Human Resources function with a strong focus on performance management systems and labor relations. This individual will play a critical role in aligning HR strategies with organizational goals, driving employee performance, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in building performance-driven cultures and managing complex labor relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust performance management frameworks, including goal-setting, evaluations, feedback cycles, and employee development plans.
- Serve as the organization’s lead on labor relations, managing union relationships, negotiations, grievances, and collective bargaining processes.
- Advise senior leadership on HR strategies that drive employee engagement, talent retention, and organizational performance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with department heads to assess workforce needs and align talent strategies accordingly.
- Design and implement training programs to build management capability in performance and labor relations.
- Monitor key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement, performance outcomes) and prepare regular reports for leadership.
- Lead investigations and resolve employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Support change management initiatives during organizational restructuring or policy changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in performance management and labor/relations.
- Deep knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and labor contract administration.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
