The Global Director of Human Resources is a senior, strategic HR leader responsible for providing Human Resources leadership across three manufacturing facilities located in North America and Europe. This role ensures consistency, alignment, and operational excellence across all sites while partnering closely with executive leadership and plant operations.
This position is hybrid at the organization's Atlanta, GA location and oversees three site‑based HR Managers, one at each manufacturing location, and supports a total employee population of approximately 1,500 employees across the business group.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as the senior HR leader for all three manufacturing facilities, driving alignment with business strategy and operational goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams, navigating complex global HR and operational needs.
- Partner with a single business leader responsible for the full manufacturing population (~1,500 employees).
- Understand business priorities and translate them into an HR plan that supports the business
- Drive data-driven recommendations that improve performance, retention, organizational effectiveness, and the employee experience
People & Organizational Leadership
- Directly manage and develop three HR Managers, ensuring consistency in HR practices, decision‑making, and execution across sites.
- Create and maintain standardized HR processes, policies, and frameworks across all manufacturing locations while respecting local labor laws and cultural considerations.
- Drive leadership development, succession planning, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Operational & Manufacturing Support
- Maintain strong fluency in both HR and manufacturing operations, operating as a hands‑on, solutions‑oriented business partner.
- Support plant leadership with employee relations, labor relations (where applicable), performance management, and change management.
- Balance strategic priorities with day‑to‑day operational needs in fast‑paced manufacturing environments.
Global HR Excellence
- Ensure consistency and compliance across multiple geographies, North American and Europe labor regulations.
- Effectively manage across multiple time zones, maintaining strong communication and responsiveness with global stakeholders.
- Lead initiatives to improve engagement, retention, safety culture, and organizational effectiveness across all three sites.
- Compensation & Market Insights
- Partner with leadership to gather and assess market compensation data, ensuring competitive and consistent pay practices across regions.
- Provide informed guidance on salary structures, incentives, and workforce cost management.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of Senior‑level HR leadership experience supporting multi‑site manufacturing operations.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration.
- Proven experience leading HR teams and influencing executive leaders.
- Strong working knowledge of HR practices across North America and Europe preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate HR strategy with operational and business objectives.
- Experience operating in matrixed, global organizations.
