Vice President – Head of Human Capital | Private Equity | NYC
I’m currently partnering with a high-performing private equity fund in New York to appoint a Vice President – Head of Human Capital, reporting directly to the Managing Partner.
This is a high-impact, strategic role with visibility across both the fund and its operating companies (~50 employees total).
This is the first HR hire within the firm — a unique opportunity to build the entire function from the ground up, combining strategy and hands-on execution.
About the Role
You will lead and shape the full human capital agenda, including:
- Building and structuring talent acquisition & workforce planning
- Designing and implementing performance management frameworks
- Creating compensation & benefits strategies
- Driving culture, engagement & internal communications
- Establishing scalable HR processes, tools, and infrastructure
You will act as a true business partner to the leadership team and deal professionals, playing a key role in supporting the firm’s growth and value creation.
What We’re Looking For
- 10–15+ years of experience in Human Capital / HR leadership
- Strong exposure to private equity, investment firms, or high-performance environments
- Proven track record of building or transforming HR functions
- Ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
