People Partner – U.S.
Location: New York (Hybrid)
Salary: $110,000 - 140,000
The Advocate Group is recruiting on behalf of Elemis, a globally recognised luxury skincare brand, for an experienced People Partner to support and strengthen their U.S. organisation.
This is a highly visible role partnering closely with senior leadership in North America while working as part of the wider Global People & Purpose team based in London. The successful candidate will play a critical role in bringing the global people strategy to life in the U.S. market, ensuring it translates into meaningful local impact while remaining aligned with the company’s global framework.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, supporting organisational growth, strengthening leadership capability and championing a culture that reflects Elemis’ values and brand standards. The position requires strong commercial awareness, sound judgement and the confidence to influence stakeholders across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders across the U.S. business to deliver global people and talent priorities aligned to business growth and performance goals.
- Lead workforce planning, organisational design, and succession planning, ensuring alignment with global frameworks while reflecting U.S. market dynamics.
- Translate people data and engagement insights into actionable recommendations that support business performance.
- Drive the execution of global performance, talent, and reward programmes within the U.S., supporting succession planning and internal mobility.
- Coach and support leaders to strengthen performance management, accountability, and inclusive leadership practices.
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for the U.S. organisation, managing the outsourced provider and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Act as the escalation point for complex employee relations matters, leading investigations and ensuring compliance with U.S. employment legislation.
- Deliver engagement and culture initiatives locally, using retention and engagement data to inform continuous improvement.
- Implement global HR policies and people programmes within the U.S., maintaining HRIS data integrity and ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Ensure people initiatives support Elemis’ sustainability commitments across Climate, Biodiversity, and People pillars.
About you
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience operating at a senior HR Business Partner level.
- Demonstrated experience delivering global people or talent strategies within a local market.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in workforce planning and organisational design.
- Highly data driven with strong analytical capability and HR systems experience.
- High levels of integrity, discretion and sound judgement.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or PHR certification preferred.
