A great client at UHY is seeking an HR Manager. The ideal candidate will have employee relations expertise, HR compliance knowledge, and experience operating as a stand-alone HR leader.
The HR Manager role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.
HR Manager Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR advisor to leadership and support overall HR strategy
- Manage the full spectrum of HR functions including employee relations, recruiting oversight, performance management, and organizational support
- Act as the main point of contact for employee relations matters, investigations, and workplace concerns
- Coach managers on performance management, employee development, and disciplinary processes
- Support recruiting efforts for salaried and hourly positions and guide hiring managers on compensation and offer structure
- Oversee onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
- Administer benefits programs and act as liaison with brokers and vendors, including open enrollment support
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Oversee workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and HR documentation
- Manage HRIS data integrity, payroll coordination, and HR metrics such as turnover and time-to-fill
- Lead performance review cycles and talent development initiatives
- Partner with outside resources on specialized HR matters as needed
HR Manager Requirements
- 5–8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Prior experience as a stand-alone HR leader or within a small HR team environment
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
- Experience supporting both salaried and hourly employee populations
- Proven ability to handle employee relations matters independently and confidentially
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similar environments preferred
- Experience supporting multi-site or multi-entity organizations preferred
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) preferred
- Experience building or improving HR processes and systems from the ground up preferred
