We are seeking an adaptable and hands-on People Operations Lead to help us establish and embed the end-to-end HR operations in the United States team. The Mission (About the Role)
Based in our Las Vegas hub, you will oversee the entire employee lifecycle for our US-based workforce. This is a strategic yet "sleeves-rolled-up" role where you will navigate the complexities of US labor law, lead high-velocity recruitment, and foster a high-performance culture that bridges our Australian technology roots with our US operational goals.
What You'll Do
- Drive US Recruitment: Lead end-to-end talent acquisition in collaboration with the Global Talent Acquisition team and US leaders to keep pace with our rapid contract deployments.
- Champion Culture & Engagement: Design and implement local initiatives that boost morale and maintain our supportive, care-driven culture in our US headquarters in Las Vegas and Connecticut office.
- Manage People Operations: Oversee US payroll coordination, benefits administration (health, 401k), and compliance with federal and state (NV) labor regulations.
- Lead Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor to people leaders and team members, resolving challenges and providing coaching that aligns with our core values.
- Talent Development: Lead talent development initiatives to build a high performance culture and prepare team members for career progression.
- Leadership Development: Facilitate leadership development and coaching with US leaders to enhance their capabilities and their team's performance.
- Support US "Transition-In": Work closely with project management teams to ensure operational personnel are onboarded, trained, and ready for multi-state contract implementation.
- Embed Governance: Ensure all US people processes meet our high organizational standards and international ISO compliance requirements.
What You Bring
- US HR Expertise: 6+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or lead capacity, ideally within a tech or scale-up.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US labor laws and experience managing US benefits programs.
- Recruitment Prowess: A proven ability to source and close technical and operational talent in a competitive market.
- Communication Skills: Willingness and ability to collaborate across time zones with Australian and NZ counterparts while maintaining a strong local presence.
- Qualifications: PHR or SHRM-CP certification is highly regarded; Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field is required.

Transparency: Location & Salary
- Location: Las Vegas, NV (Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week onsite at our Las Vegas hub).
- Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 USD per annum, plus a competitive benefits package including health insurance and 401k.
