McClain Resources is recruiting and Human Resources Director for a client on a growth trajectory.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Director leads the people strategy by building systems, policies and practices that enable employees to do their best work in a dynamic and fast-paced growing company in the tavern; restricted and non-restricted gaming establishments in Nevada. This role emphasizes demonstrated skills, impact and leadership to ensure HR compliance and a high performing culture to drive business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in HR leadership within multi-unit experience.
SCOPE:
The Human Resources Director oversees the entire human resources department, focusing on strategic HR planning, policy development, and ensuring legal compliance. This is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company's overall business goals and partnering with the PEO provider.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the growth, performance, and culture of the company.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify organizational needs and drive initiatives such as succession planning, workforce planning, employee engagement, employee retention and change management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and partner on HR best practices, legal compliance, and workforce trends.
- Align business objectives into clear HR priorities with measurable outcomes.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development
- Oversee full-cycle recruiting processes for all to attract and retain top talent.
- Implement onboarding, new hire orientation, training, and development programs that reflect operational needs and brand values.
- Champion learning and development programs that aligned to current and future skill needs.
- Promote internal mobility and leadership development within the organization.
Employee Experience & Culture
- Foster an inclusive, high-trust workplace culture grounded in equity and accountability.
- Establish policies and practices that foster a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.
- Manage employee relations issues, including investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Use people data and analytics to guide decisions and improve processes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Develop and manage competitive compensation strategies, benefits plans, and incentive programs aligned with industry benchmarks.
- Ensure pay equity and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain knowledge of evolving labor laws, and ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations, health and safety standards, Nevada Gaming regulations, key licenses and EEO requirements.
- Lead audits, investigations, and risk mitigation efforts as needed.
- Manage and coordinate workers compensation with management and insurance partners.
- Manage HR-related vendor relationships, HRIS platforms/PEO provider, and documentation processes.
KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in HR systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with hands-on and strategic focus.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Adhere to confidentiality rules and all other company policies, procedure and rules as presented by ECL Gaming.
- Perform other job duties as assigned and participate in special projects at management’s request.
- Primarily based at the corporate office, however a successful HR Partner spends a lot of time in the field connecting with employees and management in their environment. The ability to travel from business unit to business unit up to 20% of the time.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
- This role is primarily an in-person role at the business location, traveling to site locations in Southern and Northern Nevada as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Prior experience in a multi-unit environment, previous gaming experience is highly preferred.
