CSP has exclusively partnered with a Baltimore-based grocery organization to find a hands-on HR Director to lead their HR function. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR policies and programs, managing all aspects of employee relations and development, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. This position will be on-site five days a week in Baltimore City MD.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all HR functions including employee relations, recruiting, benefits, and HR operations for a workforce of approximately 300 employees across two locations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development
- Conduct workplace investigations and guide managers on disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans
- Oversee recruiting strategy, hiring processes, onboarding, and workforce planning
- Manage employee benefits programs including open enrollment, FMLA, disability, workers’ compensation, and leave administration
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain accurate HR documentation
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and training initiatives while identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and systems
Requirements:
- 7+ years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong employee relations experience in a fast-paced or operational environment
- Experience managing benefits administration, leave programs, and HR compliance
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and related regulations
- Experience partnering with leadership on HR strategy and organizational initiatives
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
