Western Veterinary Partners is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President of Human Resources.
The Vice President of Human Resources will be responsible for developing and executing a scalable, data-driven people strategy that supports WVP’s high-growth, acquisition-focused environment. This leader will report to the Chief People Officer and work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, field leadership, and corporate teams to optimize the full employee lifecycle across both corporate and practice environments.
The VP of HR will lead enterprise-wide initiatives across talent management, employee relations, compliance, HR technology, performance management, succession planning, organizational design, and employee experience. This role requires a strategic thinker who can operate at both executive and operational levels while building strong partnerships across the organization.
We are seeking candidates located in the
Denver Metro market open to a hybrid work schedule, in office three days a week, with travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Executive Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team on all people-related matters.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy aligned with business objectives and rapid growth initiatives.
- Reinforce and cultivate a high-performance culture through clear performance expectations, feedback systems, and accountability structures.
- Use people analytics and workforce data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities; recommend and implement solutions.
Talent Management & Organizational Effectiveness - Lead enterprise talent management processes including:
- Performance management
- Compensation planning and reviews
- Talent reviews and succession planning
- Organizational design and headcount planning
- Employee engagement surveys and action planning
- Develop retention strategies in partnership with Operations to address practice-level and corporate talent challenges.
- Partner cross-functionally with Recruiting, Organizational Development, Marketing, Business Development, and Finance to ensure alignment on workforce planning and organizational changes.
HR Operations & Process Excellence
- Evaluate, design, and implement scalable HR systems and automation solutions to support continued expansion.
- Optimize and standardize HR processes and SOPs across regions in collaboration with People Operations Directors (East/West).
- Ensure operational excellence in benefits administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide guidance and support on complex employee relations matters across corporate and field teams.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state footprint.
- Partner with leadership to proactively address workplace concerns and continuously improve the employee experience.
Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing People team capable of supporting a geographically dispersed organization.
- Coach and develop HR leaders to identify and solve evolving talent challenges.
- Drive accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the People function.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 15+ years of progressively responsible HR leadership experience across multiple HR disciplines (talent acquisition, talent management, employee engagement, employee relations, benefits administration, etc.).
- 7+ years leading, developing, and managing HR teams.
- Experience building and executing HR strategy in a fast-paced, high-growth, multi-site environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HR law and compliance in a multi-state organization.
- Demonstrated experience using HR data and analytics to inform decision-making.
- Location: Denver Metro Area
Preferred Experience
- Experience in veterinary, healthcare, or professional services organizations.
- Prior acquisition and integration experience.
- Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth companies.
- Advanced experience with ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Office Suite.
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. The salary range for this opportunity is $180,000- $210,000 annually. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location. You will be provided more detailed information about compensation and benefits for your specific location.
