Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Director of Human Resources to manage daily HR operations and support our team. This part-time role (25 hours/week) with a $60,000 annual salary reflects the leadership responsibilities, HR expertise, and impact you will bring to the organization.
This operational role focuses on:
- HR systems and workflows
- Compliance with employment laws
- Benefits administration
- Employee support
It does not involve setting compensation strategy or serving as a strategic advisor to the CEO. You will have a direct impact on creating strong, equitable HR processes that support our staff and mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the Operations Manager.
- Oversee daily HR operations and workflows.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure compliance with California employment laws.
- Administer employee leave, accommodations, and workplace compliance matters.
- Manage benefits administration in coordination with vendors.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Promote equity, inclusion, and fairness in HR practices.
- Contribute to a positive and transparent workplace culture.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of HR experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and social justice.
- HR certifications (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) preferred.
