Vice President of Human Resources

Our client is a rapidly scaling multi-site organization providing healthcare (primary care, behavioral health, dental, etc.) in correctional facilities across the Southeast. They are seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to build and lead a high-performance HR function during a pivotal growth phase. This is an opportunity to architect the HR operating system for a company on a significant regional growth trajectory, with long-term ambitions to become a dominant provider across its sector statewide.
The organization operates under multi-year government contracts and is expanding both in scale and complexity. With strong clinical leadership and a disciplined executive team, the company is investing in infrastructure, workforce stability, and systems that will support sustained growth over the next 3–5 years.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO and COO, the VP of HR will have enterprise-wide responsibility for:
- Building a disciplined, data-driven HR function
- Strengthening workforce stability and retention
- Overseeing talent acquisition performance
- Designing scalable systems and processes
- Ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and employee relations excellence
- Implementing a company-wide performance management framework
- Aligning workforce strategy with operational growth
Team
This leader will directly manage a team of 6-8:
- Director of HR
- HR Business Partners
- HR Coordinators
The mandate is clear: move quickly, build structure, create accountability, and support aggressive yet methodical growth. This role requires a hybrid presence (2–3 days per week onsite) and occasional travel to operational sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise HR strategy aligned with business objectives
- Design and implement performance management systems tied to compensation and succession planning
- Oversee talent acquisition strategy and employer branding
- Lead employee relations, compliance frameworks, and risk mitigation initiatives
- Optimize HR technology and analytics (UKG experience preferred)
- Drive workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development
- Manage HR departmental budgeting and benefits administration
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Experience building and scaling HR systems in growth-stage organizations
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset
- Experience in healthcare strongly preferred
- Experience managing distributed, multi-site teams
- Comfortable in environments where execution speed matters
- Strong employee relations and compliance expertise
- Experience with UKG or similar HRIS platforms preferred
