Turning the Corner HR is on a mission to end suffering at work, and we’re looking for a part-time Fractional HR Director (1099) to support our growing client base.
Turning the Corner is a people-first HR consultancy that partners with organizations to build healthier, more effective workplaces. We support clients through strategic HR, recruiting, leadership development, and employee experience work—and we help job seekers find roles where they can truly thrive.
Here’s what you’ll be doing with us:
- Working directly with multiple clients from different industries to address expensive people problems like turnover, low engagement, and poorly aligned/designed teams;
- Partner with client business leaders to help them achieve their goals as their people expert and counselor;
- Create and deliver innovative solutions that support the client’s culture;
- Provide “on-demand” support to small and mid-sized business clients around HR needs.
- Supporting clients from Broomfield to Castle Rock.
Here’s what you need to bring to the table:
- 10+ years of lHR leadership experience, ideally in a consulting or multi-client environment
- SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or similar certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience navigating and advising on federal, state, and local labor laws (Colorado required, other states preferred) while balancing business needs, compliance, and a flexible workplace.
- Experience providing strategic HR advice to owners, executives, and other business leaders. Ability to influence decision-makers through deep HR knowledge and experience.
- Able to switch gears quickly and easily between high-level strategic work, detailed research, and tactical support depending on the client.
- Deep experience providing management coaching to leaders who are navigating employee behavior/performance issues, staffing reductions, leave issues, and other complex employee relation matters.
- Passion for people and the role that HR plays in helping people love their job;
- Proven ability to help a growing organization scale their people processes;
- Desire to wear multiple hats to “get things done;”
- Flexibile, adaptible, and meets people where they are. Able to navigate gray spaces and find solutions that meet client needs;
- Availability to work 15-20 hours per week to start.
This is a part-time 1099 role, hours will fluctuate based on contracts but need availability for 15–20 hours per week. Hourly compensation ranges from $60–$70/hour, depending on experience.
As our client base grows, there may be opportunities to expand hours or evolve the role over time, depending on mutual interest and business needs.
