About Company / Opportunity:
Our client is a privately owned, local, fast-growing virtual wellness organization that supports children and families. The business is mission-driven, clinically focused, and in a high-growth phase. This role is intentionally titled HR Manager but functions as an acting Director of HR, with clear growth potential as the company scales. The position offers significant autonomy, executive exposure, and the chance to fully own and shape the HR function. The ideal candidate is currently in a hands-on role, engaging in strategic discussions with executives and supporting daily HR operations. This is a roll-up-the-sleeves position!
Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end HR function for a distributed workforce
Lead employee relations, investigations, and sensitive people matters
Oversee benefits, 401(k), policies, and compliance requirements
Partner with leadership on performance management and terminations
Support recruiting processes and onboarding workflows
Build scalable HR processes and strengthen company culture
Manage remote leaders overseas and across the United States
Must-Have Skills:
Proven experience leading HR independently in a hands-on environment
Strong judgment handling sensitive employee relations and compliance matters
Experience supporting hourly or frontline workforces
Drive human resource strategy
Must be hands-on with daily HR operations
Experienced with implementing and negotiating benefits, payroll review, and OSHA compliance
Nice to Have Skills:
Background in wellness, healthcare, or behavioral therapy environments
Experience supporting multi-location or remote teams
Ability to scale HR processes in a growing organization
