Chief Human Resources Officer / Chief People Officer - Houston, Texas.
About:
A global leader in the healthcare space are seeking a CHRO to join the business, to support the CEO and wider leadership team in maturing their People operations, and building the underlying infrastructure to enable them to scale aggressively over the next few years – both through organic growth, as well as M&A.
It is an amazing opportunity, but it will challenge you.
The company in question have already grown significantly in the last few years; currently employing just over 1,000 people worldwide. They have employees spread across 15 States in the US, along with other countries across EMEA.
The pace of growth has been incredible – however, the People / HR team has not been able to keep up with that growth, and the underlying infrastructure is not yet sustainable for the next phase. As a result, they are looking to hire someone who knows what good looks like.
They need a leader who can guide the executive team on how to scale globally in the right way, build the right People function, and implement the systems, processes and practices that enable performance at scale.
There is absolutely a learning opportunity here for the right person - but not when it comes to using intuition to scale globally.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the global People agenda, acting as a strategic partner to the executive team and supporting the organisation through a period of accelerated scale and change. This is a broad, high-impact CHRO role - combining strategy with hands-on execution - and will suit someone who enjoys building the foundations required for long-term global success.
Key Priorities
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team as a trusted advisor on all people and organisational matters
- Create and deliver a global People strategy aligned to ambitious business growth plans
- Strengthen People Operations infrastructure, ensuring scalable processes and governance
- Build a high-performing People team with the capability and structure required for scale
- Lead organisational design and workforce planning across the US and EMEA footprint
- Professionalise performance management, leadership development and succession planning
- Oversee compensation, benefits and reward frameworks to ensure competitiveness and fairness
- Support integration planning and execution for M&A activity (culture, org structure, talent retention, change)
- Ensure robust compliance, risk management and HR policy frameworks across regions
What They’re Looking For
This role will suit a CHRO / CPO who has already led through scale - and ideally has experience within:
- high-growth environments (rapid headcount growth, evolving leadership team, fast-changing priorities)
- multi-state US operations and international expansion across EMEA
- building modern HR infrastructure from a position of “good, but not yet scalable”
- M&A integration and/or transformation programmes
You’ll be someone who can bring both:
- strategic credibility (board/CEO-level influence, ability to shape and steer), and
- operational excellence (ability to build systems, processes and teams that work in reality).
