Job Summary:
The Human Resources Director will act as a supportive advisor providing guidance and counsel to leadership, strategic planning, employee relations, and overseeing projects/initiatives to contribute to the continued growth and success of the organization. The HR Director leads and directs the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management activities, administering pay, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans and oversees human resources functional operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance.
- Administers human resources programs and policies to reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce.
- Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs.
- Implements HR policies and systems to facilitate processes and provide data and reporting on HR activity.
- Hire and onboard new employees
- Ensure that a company remains in compliance with laws and regulations
- Manage employee relation issues as they arise
- Collaborate with executives and senior leadership to align HR policies with the company's strategic goals
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in a multi-faceted, fast paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent public presentation and interaction skills, coupled with PC proficiency
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of proven working experience as HR manager or another HR executive.
- People oriented and results driven.
- Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics.
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
