We are seeking a strategic and proactive Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Software Engineering organization. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to software engineering leadership, playing a critical role in aligning people strategies with business goals. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-growth, technology-driven environment and has a passion for developing talent, shaping culture, and driving organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
- Partner with engineering leaders to understand team goals, culture, and talent needs.
- Provide data-driven insights to guide workforce planning, talent strategy, and org design.
- Coach senior managers and directors on leadership, team effectiveness, and change management.
- Drive alignment between engineering and overall company people strategy.
Organizational Development & Leadership Coaching
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops that elevate manager capabilities.
- Partner with the broader HR team to ensure engineering-specific programming is aligned with career growth paths.
Change Management & Culture Building
- Champion company values initiatives within the engineering org.
- Lead change initiatives, ensuring thoughtful communication and employee engagement.
- Act as a key driver in shaping and sustaining a high-performance, inclusive culture.
Core HR Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Collaborate with the broader HR team to input to forecasting in respect of hiring needs and improve tech recruiting strategies.
- Influence job architecture, leveling, and role definitions to support scalable growth.
Compensation & Salary Review Process
- Lead annual salary review and compensation benchmarking for engineering roles.
- Provide guidance on merit increases, and retention-related adjustments.
- Ensure internal pay equity and compliance with compensation policies.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employee relations within engineering.
- Conduct investigations, mediate conflicts, and ensure fair and consistent HR practices.
- Guide performance review processes, including calibration, feedback, and development planning.
- Identify and manage underperformance issues with tact and accountability.
Employee Engagement & Career Development
- Analyze engagement survey results and develop action plans to enhance morale and retention, in line with overall company strategy.
- Support career pathing, promotions, and succession planning within engineering teams.
- Act as a mentor and thought partner for engineering managers navigating people challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred).
- 8+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior HRBP role supporting technical teams.
- Strong understanding of software engineering organizations, culture, and workflows.
- Proven ability to coach and influence senior leaders.
- Experience with compensation planning, employee relations, and talent development.
- Analytical mindset with experience using HRIS and data to drive decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
