Our client is a well-known producer of food products. Due to restructuring, seeking a HR Director to lead the HR Departments (PA and MD). Primary duties include:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals and food industry best practices.
- Partner with executive leadership to drive organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
- Oversee recruitment processes for plant and corporate roles, ensuring staffing levels support production demands.
- Foster a positive workplace culture with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and performance.
- Build programs to improve morale, engagement, and communication across diverse teams and shifts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, EEO, ADA, FLSA).
- Maintain up-to-date HR policies and procedures specific to the food manufacturing industry (e.g., sanitation, safety, USDA/FDA requirements).
- Manage audits and compliance reporting for HR-related documentation.
- Serve as a liaison with unions; manage collective bargaining agreements and grievance processes.
- Develop training programs for leadership development, food safety, OSHA compliance, and operational excellence.
- Oversee compensation structure to ensure competitiveness in the labor market.
- Administer employee benefits programs and support wellness initiatives.
Position reports to Head of Operations.
Ideal candidates for HR Director will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred – SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
- 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing or food productionsetting.
- Experience in union and non-union environments preferred.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor law, and manufacturing workforce management
Salary up to $150,000. Bonus up to 20%. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA, 401k, etc.
