OVERVIEW
The HR Manager for Fulfillment Operations is responsible for providing strategic and hands-on human resources support for a distribution facility in Wilmer. This role partners closely with operations leadership to support staffing, associate relations, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement within a fast-paced distribution environment. The HR Manager plays a key role in building and maintaining a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and aligning HR strategies with operational goals to support the success and growth of the facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Embody the company culture. Champion the Mission, Vision, Values, and Brand in every decision and interaction.
• Be the people partner this facility counts on. Serve as the primary HR presence at Wilmer; the person operations leaders and associates alike know they can come to with confidence.
• Own the talent pipeline. Lead full-cycle recruiting for warehouse and leadership roles, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding the people who will define how this facility performs.
• Staff for the work ahead. Partner with hiring managers to keep headcount aligned with operational needs and workforce plans.
• Show up for your people. Guide and support associates and leaders through performance management, disciplinary conversations, and conflict resolution with fairness, consistency, and care.
• Hold the line on policy. Ensure company policies, procedures, and employment practices are applied consistently.
• Make the first days count. Partner with operations and training leadership to deliver onboarding and orientation experiences that set new associates up for long-term success.
• Build a place people want to stay. Partner with leadership to drive associate engagement, retention, and culture initiatives that make Wilmer a facility people are proud to be part of.
• Stay ahead of compliance. Ensure the facility operates in full alignment with federal, state, and local employment law and keep leadership informed when the landscape shifts.
• Keep the back office tight. Support payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS processes with the accuracy and attention to detail that keeps associates informed and leadership confident.
• Let the data tell the story. Analyze turnover, retention, and staffing trends and bring leadership a clear picture of what's working, what isn't, and what needs to change.
• Make the managers around you better. Coach and develop supervisors and leaders on performance management, employee engagement, and what it means to lead people well.
• Support a safe operation. Partner with operations and training leadership on safety initiatives.
• Plan for growth. Support organizational planning, headcount forecasting, and workforce strategy so this facility is always ready for what's next.
• Be the resource people trust. When associates have questions or concerns, be the person who listens, responds with urgency, and resolves with integrity.
• Lead through change. As this facility grows and evolves, bring the steady presence and strategic thinking that helps the organization move forward with confidence.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in warehouse, distribution, or retail operations.
• Experience supporting high-volume hourly workforces.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in recruiting, associate relations, and performance management.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with leadership teams.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience in distribution center or fulfillment operations environments.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
• Experience supporting multi-shift or high-growth operations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and drive actionable insights.
• Experience building engagement, retention, and workforce development programs.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
