Position Summary:
The Director of People Operations will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the People Operations Department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy.
Who You’ll Report To:
The Director of People Operations reports to the President.
What You’ll Own:
- Manages the overall functions of the department ensuring goals, employee engagement and compliance objectives are met.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Manages the Employee Relations Manager, Talent Acquisition Team, Onboarding Coordinator, Benefits Specialist, and the Leave Administrator positions.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations employment compliance and strategy needs.
- Administers or oversees the administration of programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations HRIS system.
- Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Completes annual compliance filings in a timely manner for ACA and EEO-1 reporting.
- Works in conjunction with the team regarding all related enrollment, filing and promotion of the 401(k) and the ESOP benefit programs; Ensures compliance with the Summary Plan Documents.
- Works with employees and outside legal counsel for immigration processes to ensure deadlines are met for the employee.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Reviews, reconciles, and approves payment for all related vendor invoices.
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for People Operations staff.
- Serves as a member of the Termination Committee and Woda Cooper Impact Committee.
- Attends all routine meetings for Management, Construction, PCI, Development to ensure any issues are addressed and to promote programs initiated by the People Operations department.
- Performs other duties as required.

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least five years of human resource management experience required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
