About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to serve as a hands-on, execution-oriented leader responsible for building a disciplined, high-performance organization. This is not a purely strategic role. This leader will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution—implementing structure, enforcing standards, and driving accountability across all functions.
Note: This role requires 5-days per week in office.
Responsibilities
Talent Strategy & Talent Acquisition Operations (AI-Enabled)
- Build and scale a hiring engine aligned to Gabriel & Co.’s growth across wholesale, retail, and e-commerce
- Implement AI-enabled recruiting tools for sourcing, screening, and pipeline management
- Standardize hiring processes, SLAs, and quality benchmarks across all functions
- Partner with leadership to proactively identify talent gaps and build pipelines
- Maintain a high hiring bar and enforce disciplined hiring decisions
Performance Management & Professional Development
- Design and implement a rigorous, KPI-driven performance management system tied to business outcomes
- Drive consistent goal-setting, performance reviews, and calibration processes
- Establish clear accountability standards across all levels of the organization
- Build structured development pathways for high performers and future leaders
- Address underperformance decisively through structured feedback and action plans
People Analytics, HR Systems & AI
- Own and evolve the HR technology stack (HRIS, performance management tools, analytics platforms)
- Leverage data and AI to drive:
- Workforce planning
- Productivity tracking
- Retention and attrition insights
- Build dashboards and reporting frameworks for executive visibility into key people metrics
- Transition HR into a data-driven, insight-led function
Culture & Organizational Effectiveness
- Reinforce a culture grounded in:

- Operational excellence
- Partner with leadership to evolve the organization to support creativity, brand-building, and innovation
- Drive organizational design, role clarity, and team effectiveness
- Support leadership development and management capability across the company
Policy, Compliance & Workforce Discipline
- Establish and enforce clear policies, procedures, and workplace standards across all geographies
- Ensure full compliance with labor laws and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a disciplined operating environment, including:
- Attendance standards
- Workday expectations
- Professional conduct
- Act as a firm but fair leader—holding teams accountable with consistency and respect
- Lead structured performance management actions and offboarding when necessary
Qualifications
- 12–15 years of progressive Human Resources / People Operations experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing, retail, or vertically integrated environments
- Strong track record of implementing performance management and accountability systems
- Experience with HR technology, analytics, and AI-driven tools
- Ability to operate as both a strategic partner and hands-on operator
- Direct communication style with high standards and strong follow-through
- Demonstrated success leading change in scaling, fast-evolving organizations
