Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources is a strategic and operational leader responsible for building, developing, and sustaining a high-performing workforce aligned with Bridgeway’s mission and organizational goals. This role ensures that all people practices, from hiring and onboarding to performance management and retention, are consistent, effective, and scalable.
The Director of HR partners closely with executive leadership to create a strong, accountable culture while ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a member of the leadership team, contributing to organizational strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with Bridgeway’s goals
- Lead workforce planning to support growth across the Academy and Therapy programs
Employee Relations
- Manage complex employee relations issues with professionalism and consistency
- Conduct investigations and support the resolution of workplace concerns
- Promote a positive, accountable workplace culture
Compensation, Benefits & Retention
- Oversee compensation structures and benefits administration
- Partner with finance on salary benchmarking and budget alignment
- Develop strategies to improve staff retention and engagement
HR Systems, Payroll & Operations
- Oversee HR systems, data tracking, and reporting
- Improve efficiency of HR processes (onboarding, evaluations, documentation)
- Use data to inform decision-making and organizational improvements
- Review and validate bimonthly payroll processing
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations
- Manage workplace injury cases in partnership with BWC and MCO, serving as the primary liaison for claims, communications, and documentation. Oversee the full process, including coordination of leave, return-to-work planning, hearings, and coverage determinations.
- Maintain policies, handbooks, documentation, and ensure the organization's best practices
- Support audits, licensing requirements, and accreditation processes
Performance Management & Staff Development
- Lead performance management systems aligned with organizational expectations
- Support leaders in coaching, feedback, and accountability practices
- Oversee professional development programs and growth pathways
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes
- Ensure hiring practices align with competency-based frameworks
- Build pipelines for critical roles in education, therapy, and operations
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 7-10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Experience in multi-department or complex service organizations
