A rapidly expanding, service-based organization in Milford is seeking a Director of Human Resources to build, lead, and scale its people function. With aggressive growth plans ahead, this role sits at the center of the company’s expansion, partnering closely with leadership to align talent strategy with operational and financial performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can think strategically but isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and execute.

What You’ll Lead:
Strategic Partnership & Leadership
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, aligning workforce planning with business objectives
- Coach managers on hiring, performance management, and team development
- Drive a culture centered on accountability, performance, and continuous improvement
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Build and oversee a scalable recruiting function to support rapid growth
- Develop sourcing strategies, hiring processes, and referral programs that improve speed and quality of hires
- Lead and mentor internal recruiting resources while supporting high-volume hiring needs
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee HR policies, systems, and compliance across a multi-location workforce
- Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, OSHA, etc.)
- Manage employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution
- Maintain accurate employee records, payroll alignment, and HR system integrity
Culture, Engagement & Retention
- Launch and lead initiatives that improve employee engagement and reduce turnover
- Partner with leadership to strengthen team culture and reinforce core values
- Design onboarding and training programs that set employees up for long-term success
Performance Management & Development
- Implement performance frameworks, feedback processes, and leadership development programs
- Track and analyze key HR metrics (turnover, time-to-fill, engagement, cost per hire)
- Support succession planning and organizational design as the company grows
Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee compensation structures, benchmarking, and incentive programs
- Manage benefits offerings, vendor relationships, and open enrollment
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations and internal standards
What They’re Looking For:
- 5–10+ years of progressive HR experience with leadership responsibility
- Proven track record building or improving recruiting functions
- Experience in field-based or labor-intensive industries (construction, trades, logistics, etc.) preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- HR certifications (PHR, SHRM) are beneficial but not required
- Valid driver’s license required
